Another Crafty Project with my Vintage Encyclopedia

Ahhh how I am excited to crafts with my encyclopedia pages....I really really love the look of the worn and loved books and when you use special words for your projects they are just that much more personal and cherished (at least I think so!)!!!

Here is one of the projects that I worked on today up-cycled picture frames turned vintage!

Here is how the big frame started out.... chunky sliver is not my style anymore....I still love the frame and I was debating donating it to good will, painting it with chalk board pain/regular paint or just storing it until I liked the silver look again....but I am sure glad my encyclopedia came around and inspired me because I am excited with the look!

Not much advice with this project, I just used the oooh so loved mod podge (and lots of it) and my trusty sand paper to give the edges a nice finished look.

Mod podge and I sometimes don't get along (I hate the bubbles and ripples that sometimes form under your paper), but if you are okay with something not quite perfect this project was simple and easy.

Note-I am planning on finding something clever to put inside my frames (perhaps a printed graphic on scrapbook paper or something I just haven't decided quite yet what....any ideas for me????)

I also must say on a personal note, I have had such great feedback and even have some new followers this week!!!!  I am SO excited to be making blog friends and to be inspiring others!

Great idea using the encyclopedia pages. I knew there was a use for them somehow. wink wink

A vintage piece of jewelry might look wonderful with the frames.

I love your blog and your ideas!! Can't wait to try some. I'm kind of new to mod podge though, could you tell me how to use the sandpaper and what exactly it does? thanks. . . I'll be back! Cathie

My grandfather was a doctor..I have one of his old prescription pads..the ones with name, address, i.d. number on them (from the mid-1960's when he last practiced)..they are precious and few..what would you do with such a thing? Thanks!

This is a GREAT project!!! I'm actually thinking of doing a mod podge makeover of my bathroom door, with some vintage magazine illustrations I have. Currently, my bathroom door is, shall we say, hideous.
