Crafty Scrappy Happy Me-Thursday {5} & a fall project

Hello friends!  Is it just me or has this week gone by awfully fast?!  I can't believe that it is time to link up already!  This week I am doing things a little differently---you are stuck with a craft from me andddd no co-host.  I hope that is okay...  I will get the co-hosts back in the line-up soon.  But until then---here is what I have been up to this week!

I made this fall sign:

Which was inexpensive and simple---both are great if you ask me!

I used some fall fabric that I am loving right now, and some canvas wrapped "art" that I picked up from Michaels in the dollar section awhile back---I figured I would come up with a fun way to up-cycle them!

I think the entire project costed about $7

I used a staple gun to fold and fasten the fabric around the canvas.

{If you wanted to you could add some paper to the back so that it had a more finished look---but I wanted the back open so I could hang the canvases up}

Then I cut Fall {the word} out on vinyl with my silhouette cutter and placed the vinyl onto the fabric wrapped canvases

and just added paint.

Sweet and simple right?
The bad news is that this is only the temporary "home" for my fall art...
it will end up on my mantle that I am still working on....
butttt look for the fall mantle reveal soon!
And of course lots more fall inspired crafts as well!

I am linking up to a few of my favorite link parties!

Well, it was meant to be! I came over to comment on your cute little Fall sign only to realize that I had earlier commented on your Halloween bag and asked where you got the linen bag. Then I realized you were hosting a link party right now. So, I'm a new follower linking up for the first time. I'll be back many times, I'm sure :)

I love how you used those cheapy "art" pieces! What a great idea! Wish I had a cricut or silhouette, but I think I might try the idea of using carbon paper and tracing a print out of the letters, then filling in with paint. One of these days I'll find the time to try it! : ) Thanks for hosting!

A strange thing happened to me last year. Every major holiday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, had me or one of my family members laid up, sick, or in the hospital. I didn't bother decorating for any of the holidays, with the exception of Christmas, but only to put up and decorate the tree. So this year, knock on wood, we are healthy and the only bug biting me is the decorating bug. Your post has helped inspire me to get out of my laziness and get to prepping the house for fall. Thanks!!!

BTW, great giveaway from my own Wednesday's post and inspirational post today on life's journeys!

So cute girl! I love when a bargain turns into something beautiful. Got to love hidden potential. I really like how versatile that space is becoming for you! I think it is so cool how you are able to flip it around so easily.
