A Christmas Towel and a new technique!

Hi guys!  I so so so enjoy my Thursdays off of work....

I am all about resting, relaxing and crafting.

And I had some fun today!

I had a fun idea.  I tried it.  It worked.  Andddd now I am excited to share it with you!

I did some fun transferring onto fabric.

Anddd I made this Christmas towel.

Becauseeee I love EVERYTHING decorated right down to my kitchen towels for the holiday! 

I LOVE flour sac towels!

Buttt they are so darn plain...I just had to play with dressing them up!

Here is what you need for this project:

-towel

-fabric

-versa mark ink pad

-embossing powder

-embossing heating tool

-stamps (I used vintage printing block)

-sewing machine

First I just tested the length and width I wanted according to my stamp size and ironed the fabric so that it would be simple to sew.

See so so much more simple to sew once it is ironed!

Then I stamped with my clear versa mark stamp pad and sprinkled embossing powder over top the inked fabric and then poured off the excess.

Then I heated the area with an embossing heating tool.

I had fun using a glitter and white alternating colors---

the transfer from the stamps weren't perfect...but I kind of like it that way!

Finally I just sewed the strip right into place.

Even if you aren't a pro at sewing like me---it is only 4 straight lines---

I swear it is do-able!

Sweet and simple.

Decorated for the holiday but not too much.

And made from things I had around the house---double bonus!!!
