Take it or leave it.

Hello friends!
So tonight I thought it would be kind of fun to share a few "before" pictures with you...
I don't have anything just right or finished quite yet but soooonnnnn!
In the mean time I would love it you wanted to play a little game with me!
I want your input.

If you came across these finds at a garage sale or thrift store would you
Take it or Leave it????

In order to fully get your opinion I will tell you how much I paid for each piece...
don't judge if you think I got ripped off!

Found number 1 at a garage sale for $5.00.
It is on the smaller size, and quite beat up in its before stage.

Got this one down from $3.00 to $2.00---Hubs loves to negotiate for me LOL!

This was another $5.00 find.
Really really dirt and spider webs on the bottom part of the cushion.

Solid wood super super heavy.
This guy is hollow in the middle so lots of room for storage.
Got it for $10.00

  5. That furniture is very beautiful as well as People keep this furniture in smaller spaces. This kind of furniture completely fit in your home or office. You get enough space in your home with this type of furniture.

  6. My refurbishing skills aren't that great yet, so I'm not sure what I would have taken; but not the chair, I love the piece but it looks like it needs allot of work can't wait to see what you do with it!

  9. Very good finds! Here, here!

Esp #3 (the chair)...I, too would have snagged it in a heartbeat. Then taken it home, where it would sit in the basement for a million years until I got the courage to redo it, but it would turn out lovely in the end, I'm sure.

Staying tuned to see your AFTERS on these puppies!

    Smiles,

  10. Particularly like #3. For me, I'd strip off the material and padding, Paint the frame gloss white and redo material in a splashy tropical flowery print. I do live in Florida. Or maybe gloss black frame with a black and white print.

  11. What a great idea for a post! So here are my ideas:

    1. I love old suitcases, but I think you can find them at thrift stores for cheaper in better shape. BUT, that's a pretty unique looking one, so it's a toss-up.
    2. That's a darling little table. I would have snagged it in a heartbeat. It'll be so cute in a new color.
    3. Ah, the chair. I don't know. I've never reupholstered, so I'm not sure if I'd be able to do it skillfully. Other bloggers make it look so easy, but since I wouldn't do it right away, I probably wouldn't have gotten it. But you're on a creative streak, so I bet you can do it no problem!
    4. That will make a great little bench, and it seems like you can have it forever. The little cabinets on the end are strange to me, though. Does the top flip up? It seems like those would only be necessary if that was the only access to the inside. I don't know.

    Cool post! Great idea!

  12. LOVE the finds...definitely would have bought them all & I think the prices are fantastic. The only thing I may have thought twice about is #4 and the ONLY reason is because my husband would have said "Where on earth are you going to put that???" - then I would have thought twice & bought it anyway...;) Great job, Jaime...can't wait to see the transformations!!! I know they'll be spectacular!

  15. I would probably say leave it on all but #4 BUT only because I wouldn't take the time to redo them :)...I think every dollar you spent was well worth it! I love #4 b/c it would go with my style (once I painted it and added a stencil on top, I'd use it as seating and storage in my foyer. Can't wait to see the finished products!

  16. #1--take it
    #2--take it
#3--take it, if I knew how to upholster, great chair though
    #4--leave it
    This was fun! Thanks!

  17. I would have probably only taken #2! lol only because it's the only one I can picture myself transforming. and maybe #4 but I am too scared to "ruin" things because I'm still learning how to paint furniture and such.
The other scare me! lol I'm EXCITED to see what you come up with! :D

  18. I would have taken it all if my name was Jamie from Crafty, Scrappy, Happy and I knew I was going to take it home and make is fabulous! But..since my name is Carmella, I would have
    Taken #'s 1, 2 and 4....#3 kind of scares me a little bit :)

  19. I am absolutely drooling over#1, I know you will do something cute to#2, #3 looks scary but I bet it will look good with a grain sack seat. Good luck with it! &#4 I dunno...that's a head-scratcher. Are you going to turn it into a padded bench or window seat? I wish my hub would go to garage sales & be as gung-ho about repurposing as yours. You've got a keeper!
    Congrats on your haul!

  20. How wonderful way you find vintage furniture and fixing it up to give it a new life. That furniture is eye catching and I have same it in plastic, as per my experience, wood furnitures are better than plastic furnitures.
