The ups and downs of long distance.

The UPs
-I reach an all time high when a stretch of two weeks is over and I get to see Cal.  The first day is amazing! And I appreciate all of the time that I have with him BUT about the second day we start getting close to saying goodbye again I start having a hugely hard time.

The DOWNs
-My heart starts to just ache, when I know our time is running out.  It affects everything...my thoughts/feelings go so quickly from an all time high to an all time low when he leaves.

My GOALs
-To find balance
-To look at things in a more positive light (I don't think that either Cal or I benefit from me crying the whole time he is here)
-So on that note-To cry less
-To somehow really really realize this is only temporary
-I wish I could enjoy my time with or without Cal....maybe this goes back to #1 I wish that I could be more balanced...I believe I am getting there right now but I need to try to have less of the lows

I have to believe that some of my emotion this week is directly related to Cal's next visit being a long three weeks away (the longest stretch so far).  I also probably don't help that this home-body is going to be on rotation for the next two weeks in Grand Rapids MI without my pups who help me feel much much much less lonely.  When I get home from my rotation I have my first of three parts of boards, the reason that Cal won't be here until the third weekend...this means one whole week at my house without my babies...it is amazing how much of a difference the dogs make.  Soooo, time to take a deep breath, re-gain control of my emotions, put on a happy face, look forward to the future, enjoy the present and just live.
